This past weekend was so much fun. It was the perfect blend of going out, working out, and relaxing. I also did quite a few of the things on my Summer in NYC list! On Friday, I went on a long bike ride through Central Park (thanks, Summer Fridays) then to a friends birthday party at The Woods in Williamsburg. They have a great garden/patio area outside. On Saturday I met up with a friend at one of my favorite coffee shops, Birdbath then we had a picnic in Central Park. My sister and I met up for lunch in Riverside Park before going to hot yoga at Yoga to the People. I had dinner with a friend then stayed in and watched Orange is the New Black. I met up for brunch with friends from college on Sunday then my friend and I went for a long walk through The Rambles in Central Park. When you are in The Rambles you almost feel like you are hiking. We went to Francois Payard to pick up macarons to bring to my blogger friend Courtney’s (you may know her from Color Me Courtney!) party, Mimosas and Macarons. Francois Payard has make your own macaroons and macaroni ice cream sandwiches so I will definitely be going back for one soon!

The party was so much fun! I follow a lot of the blogger’s blogs and it was so great to meet them in person. It’s a little strange because you know so much about them without actually knowing them in person but it was so much fun to finally meet.

I loved Courtney’s recap of planning the party. For example, the napkins and champagne glasses look like Kate Spade but they are disposable and Courtney put on little gold stickers! We all brought six of our favorite macarons but Courtney had a lot there and they were all from Trader Joe’s! Great and less expensive!

Summer in NYC

I grew up in NYC and haven’t fully taken advantage of all of the fun “touristy” things to do in the city. I did “touristy” things when I studied abroad, when I travel, or in DC but it is time to try a few new things in NYC and do some of my favorite things again. Here is my list so far! I’m sure I’ll be adding to it throughout the summer. I’ve also added a few things that aren’t in NYC but are on by to-do list.

I’ve told a few of my friends about this list and I can’t wait to complete it with different people!
