Gossip Girl Tour: Serena Van Der Woodsen’s Bedroom at Blair’s

I was watching Gossip Girl the other day and it was the season where Serena lived at Blair’s. I found details of the room. Isn’t it gorgeous! The butterfly art was made from crushed cans that the artist, Paul Villinski, found on the streets of New York!

Gossip Girl Home Decor: The Van Der Woodsen Home

I love Gossip Girl.  I must admit, I read every single book in the series.

I also love interior design and thought it would be great to write a post about Serena Van Der Woodsen’s home.  The decor is so sophisticated, and modern.

The living room is beautiful.  I would love the Prada Sign and modern picture above the staircase.  I also love the blue rug, the teal lamp, and teal blanket.

The desk and what looks like a Missoni chevron fabric chair would be the perfect place to sit and write blog posts and articles.  I also love the modern chair behind the desk and all of the natural sunlight.

I love the Van Der Woodson breakfast nook!  I like how the red carpet contrasts from the blue carpet in the rest of the living room because it makes the nook feel like a different room while allowing them to keep the open feel of having one large room. The wood chairs and chandelier are beautiful.

The kitchen is so modern and I love the pop of blue.

I’ve already written a post about Serena’s bedroom but it is too beautiful not to include one more time.  It is so adult and mature.  I love the beautiful detail on the nightstand and the glass lamp.  I also love that her bedding is so mature and simple (plus the silver pillow is beautiful!).  I would love to have the polka dot wall/headboard!

I love the metallic elements in the pillows, the polka dot headboard, and the wall.  The painting is so interesting and modern!

In the article Gossip Girl Set: Get the Look I learned that the set designer wanted Serena’s bedroom to reflect her personality,  “‘her room shows a confident, eclectic mix of funky new and classic vintage items’” says Weeks, who decorated with bold patterns and metallic accents. “I wanted it to express her character: effortlessly beautiful and self-assured.”  The paintings in Serena’s room are purchased from the Art Production Fund (APF), “a non profit organization dedicated to helping artists realize difficult-to-produce works, reaching new audiences and expanding public participation and understanding of contemporary art.”  Check out InStyle’s 360 Degree Gossip Girl Set Tour for an all access view of Serena’s bedroom.
