DIY Earring Rack

I’ve been wanting an earring rack for awhile, but I decided I’d try to be creative and make a DIY version. I love how it turned out! I used a cork tile that I had in my room at my parent’s house. The set of four was $14.89. I took a few of my favorite photos from college photos and used earring sets as push pins. Make sure that you have at least two pairs of earrings on each photo so that you can put on a pair of earrings without your photos falling down. I hung dangling earrings off of the top of the board and leaned it up against my windowsill so that I can push back my curtains and see them while I’m getting ready in the morning.

I wonder what DIY project I should try next. Suggestions are welcome!

20 Creative DIY Ways to Wrap Presents

I absolutely love the holiday season. I love NYC during the holidays. My favorite holiday tradition growing up was decorating the Chanukah piano. My sister and I weren’t allowed to have a Christmas tree growing up (which makes sense since we are Jewish). One year we surprised our parents by decorating the grand piano in the living room with tinsel and white lights. We carefully arranged all of the presents and holiday cards we had received on the piano. After that, the tradition stuck. Every year we would light the menorah and sing prayers around the Chanukah piano. We were resourceful and creative at a young age! My sister’s birthday is Christmas day so my family has a Christmas day tradition. My sister, my Mom and I go to the spa in the afternoon before meeting my dad for dinner and a movie (yes, we sometimes fit the stereotype of eating Chinese food and seeing a movie.) My other favorite holiday tradition is going to my best friend from high school (and current roommate)’s house for Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. Her dad always makes the best meal and we stay up late talking, wrapping gifts, and watching holiday movies like The Holiday, Elf, and Love Actually. We wake up early and unwrap presents with her family then I take the train home to celebrate my sister’s birthday. I feel really fortunate to have two great families to celebrate the holidays with every year.

Here are some creative DIY ways to wrap gifts (these work for the holiday season and year round):
