Yesterday, I went to a fantastic event hosted by my friends at Dear Kate. Dear Kate just launched a Kickstarter Campaign to make yoga pants that allow you to go commando. The Kickstarter Campaign states, “At Dear Kate, we’ve engineered a new type of yoga pant that means you’ll never again find your undies in a bunch at the end of a workout. Incorporating a small inset of our patent-pending Underlux fabric, these pants have your back if you decide to ‘go commando.’ Imagine the freedom of no more VPL (visible panty lines), no bunching or riding up, and no stress over winging it without underwear. Dear Kate redefined underwear with our patent-pending Underlux blend of fabric that is wicking, stain-releasing, and leak-resistant. We knew if we were going to expand beyond underwear, our new line had to be equally revolutionary. Our customers had an answer for us: they wanted a reinvented Yoga Pant.” The team interviewed 920 women to find out what would make the perfect pair of yoga pants – then they made it happen. They launched their Kickstarter Campaign yesterday and raised double their goal before the event even began! I am so proud and happy for them! I’ve known the founder, Julie for a little over a year and I went to GW with Amanda, the marketing manager, so it was great to celebrate their success.
The Dear Kate team knows how to throw a great party. They had a Pinterest-worthy party celebrating their move to NYC with a make your own ice cream sandwich bar and a gourmet make your own lemonade bar. This party did not disappoint. We took a 305 Fitness class for an hour then ate gelato from Popbar, water from Hint, and drinks from Owl’s Brew. This was my first 305 Fitness class and I loved it! It was such a great workout and it was so much fun that I didn’t feel like I was working out. Each class incorporates dance moves, sports drills and high intensity interval training to create a full-body workout. They had a live DJ and instructors that were so enthusiastic that it pushed me to try to match their intensity (even if I was going left when other people were going right). Don’t worry if you aren’t a great dancer, you’ll get a great workout regardless and I bet that you become better and better with time. I met so many amazing women at the event. One of my friends was already going then we ran into another one of our friends at the event.
