Rent the Runway Review

I recently used Rent the Runway (RTR) to find a dress to wear to a wedding.  Rent the Runway is perfect if you only want to wear the dress once because the paparazzi will be taking pictures of you (or your friends will be putting a plethora of pictures up on Facebook).  I would recommend using Rent the Runway if you’re in sorority and are constantly needing dresses for Semi-Formals and Formals.  I would also suggest it for women in the Junior League who have lots of events to go to (Winter Ball is just around the corner, plus members of the Junior League get 10% off).  RTR helps you chose the perfect outfit by suggesting occasions you could wear the dress for such as New Years Eve, a black tie event, or an anniversary.  They also have a wide range of designers to choose from.  Don’t have the perfect clutch or earrings to match your dress?  Fret not, you can tie the prefect outfit together by renting accessories, too!

I rented the Kate Spade New York Jillian Dress for $50 but the retail price is $395.  I know my size in Kate Spade so it was less of a gamble. However, if you don’t know your size you should try on something by the designer so you have a better idea of how the item will fit you.  RTR also gives you the option of renting the dress in two different sizes.  If the dress doesn’t fit and you return it in 24 hours, you can get a merchandise credit.  You don’t have to worry about dry cleaning the dress either – Rent the Runway will do it for you!  You only have to remember to return it after four days.  You even get to keep the garment bag!
